Food stamp reform?

We can only HOPE!

NO MORE FREE LIVING! If you receive government money (tax payer money - MY money) you best work for it! Get your ass out there and work for the money like SOME of us do.
"In December 2014, Maine imposed a work requirement on this category of recipients. Under the policy, no recipient had his benefits simply cut. Instead, recipients were required to undertake state-provided training or to work in community service six hours per week. Nearly all affected recipients chose to leave the program rather than participate in training or community service. As a result, the Maine caseload of able-bodied adults without dependent children dropped 80 percent in just a few months."

Why not?

“Wright noted that over the past two years, Wendy’s has figured out how to eliminate 31 hours of labor per week from its restaurants and is now working to use technology, such as kiosks, to increase efficiency. Kiosks could ease lines and boost kitchen output during peak lunch and dinner times, Tristano said. The other benefit is higher order accuracy. And as Bob Welcher, president of Restaurant Consultants Inc., said of kiosks last year: 'They always are courteous. They always show up for work on time.'” - Dispatch
Hello Friend!
I cannot say I am against these kiosks. Think about it, anything's better than having to speak to some of the ill-mannered, emotionally disabled, uneducated and/or dumb-as-a-bag-of-rocks character we've ALL had the displeasure of interacting with when visiting a fast food joint.

If these "robots" idea came in fact due to the "minimum wage increase," well, I cannot blame Wendy's for wanting to shed EXPENSIVE dead weight. These types of jobs are NOT supposed to be life careers (unless you are in a managerial position.) These jobs are supposed to be "stepping stones," or "means to an end" for students, or anything of the likes. A "low level" job at a fast food joint requires NO REAL SKILLS.  If a computer is an efficient way to replace a human (who is incapable of accurately taking your order), and that replacement would help a business offer better quality, better service, and order accuracy... may these kiosks be planted EVERYWHERE.

I still cringe at the horribly painful memory of ordering a Caramel Frappe WITHOUT caramel sauce on the whipped cream. Hey, McDonnalds! I'm looking at you!

Kudos to Wendy's! Bring those suckers to NYC!
